In the heartfelt storytelling tradition of country music, Three Chord Money weaves the tales of everyman into the rock, folk, and honky tonk blend that is uniquely characteristic of Outlaw County.
What began as a three-piece acoustic version of the Philly-based rock band Clashing Plaid, Three Chord Money—Anthony Porter (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Andy Watts (guitar, vocals), and Kenny Leso (bass, vocals)— has evolved into an authentic Americana sound that defies genre. The band released its self-titled debut album in November 2016, along with the holiday single, “Don’t Take Down That Christmas Tree Just Yet.” Both are available for purchase on iTunes and CD Baby. While acoustic shows with Porter, Watts and Leso are intimate affairs, the addition of pedal steel, piano, and percussion on the album, produced by Derek Chafin of BarnSound Studio in Media, Pa., gives listeners a new way to experience the music. However you listen—at a bar with the guys playing an acoustic set, or in your living room on your stereo on iPod—the songs tell our collective stories of hard work, heartache, and barroom antics with sincerity and humor. - Alana Mauger |
